Boott Cotton Mills Boardinghouse Exhibit

Title

Boott Cotton Mills Boardinghouse Exhibit

Description

From the 1820s-1850s, Lowell’s mill girls primarily lived in company-owned boardinghouses. This collection features images of the restored Boott Cotton Mills boardinghouse. The pictures showcase what life was like in the boardinghouse – from meals in the dining room to the bedrooms where workers slept after long days of working in the mills, and what workers’ clothing looked like.
